Day to day
Please try and arrive between 8.30 – 8.45, this will help enable and maintain safety and security at all times.
Please remember to inform a member of staff if anyone else is collecting your child. In these circumstances a password will be needed in order for staff to allow the child to be collected.
Please be prompt when collecting your child at the end of the sessions as children can find it distressing when parents / carers are late.
The use of mobile phones is not permitted at any times whilst on the premises.
Clothing
At St Thomas More Playgroup we don’t have a uniform, but we feel it is very important to send children in appropriate clothing for all our daily activities. We ask you please to not send your children in their “best” clothing as we would like our children to feel comfortable and not to be concerned about getting paint or glue on their clothes. We do provide aprons, but we cannot protect every area of our children’s clothing.
If children are potty training, we ask for them to come dressed in clothing suitable for them to be able to gain access to the toilet a quickly as possible. We like children to gain the confidence to dress themselves while at playgroup so please avoid anything you think your child might struggle to dress themselves in E.g., Dungarees or shoes with laces.
Outdoor clothing
As part of our learning environment we expect that children use our outdoor environment each day (Rain or Shine) so we please ask that each day your child brings in the following
- Wellies
- Warm coat for winter / Lighter weight coat for warmer days
- Waterproof Coat and bottoms / Puddle suits
- Spare sets of clothing for those days where we might have “Accidents” including underwear and socks.
- Hats and scarves in cooler weather
- Sun hats in the warmer weather.
We ask that ALL clothing and shoes are labelled where possible to avoid any confusion.
We have a collection of spare clothing and we please ask if your child is to come home in any that they are washed and returned when possible.
